Scott Nielson (Bentley Capital Management, LLC) possesses several decades of combined experience in construction management as well as independent, real estate development fund management to provide him with a background uniquely suited to today’s real estate development environment.

Mr. Nielson established Bentley Capital Management, LLC, eight years ago and has served as director and fund manager since its inception. Bentley Capital’s sole focus is as a real estate development fund, and it has enjoyed a history of successful projects and returns.

More than thirty years in the building industry began for Scott as a teenager under the tutelage of his contractor father. After high school, Scott attended Utah StateUniversity and then studied construction management at Bridgerland Area Vocational Center before launching his own career in building. He obtained his General Contractor’s license in 1978 and over the next twelve years he built upscale ($450,000 to $1 million) homes in the Logan and Cache Valley area, as well as a 95-unit hotel, a 177-unit apartment complex, a single family home development with 225 homes, a $1.5 million office building and several other small commercial buildings.

For the first half of the 1990’s, Scott built luxury homes priced between $6 - $8 million in Big Bear Lake in California before returning to Utah in the mid-1990’s. Over the following eight years—during an unprecedented residential and industrial boom period for Salt Lake Valley and Utah Valley fueled by a hot technology market and the upcoming hosting of the 2002 Winter Olympics—Mr. Nielson focused exclusively on commercial development.

In 2004, Scott became one of the founding partners of Southwest Desert Development, LLC, which builds single family homes in the 3000 sq. ft to 6000 sq. ft range and priced between $500,000 and $1 million.

Scott Nielson lives in Pleasant Grove, Utah, and enjoys piloting aircraft as well as spending as much time as possible with his wife Carolee, their four children and two grandchildren.
